Terms & Conditions

Clear terms for selling your device.

These Terms govern your use of Sell That Cell and any transaction made through our website. By using the website, submitting a quote request, placing an order, shipping a device, or accepting payment from Sell That Cell, you agree to these Terms.

Last updated: July 1, 2026

1. Overview

Sell That Cell is operated by CDW Ventures, LLC. Throughout these Terms, “Sell That Cell,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to CDW Ventures, LLC doing business as Sell That Cell.

Sell That Cell provides an online service for customers to sell eligible phones, tablets, smartwatches, AirPods, and other listed electronic devices. Customers select their device, answer condition and status questions, receive an offer, ship the device to us, and receive payment after the device is received and inspected.

All offers are based on the information provided by the customer and are subject to verification during inspection.

2. Seller Eligibility and Ownership

By submitting a device to Sell That Cell, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 13 years old and, if you are under 18, have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
  • You are the rightful owner of the device or are authorized to sell it.
  • The device has not been reported lost or stolen.
  • The device is not connected to fraud, theft, or any illegal activity.
  • The information you provide about the device is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
  • You have the legal right to transfer ownership of the device to Sell That Cell.

Ownership of a device transfers to Sell That Cell once the final offer has been accepted and payment has been issued. Until that point, Sell That Cell may return, reject, revise, or cancel the transaction as described in these Terms.

Sell That Cell may refuse, cancel, or return any device or transaction if we believe the device cannot legally be purchased, resold, repaired, reused, or repurposed.

Devices reported lost or stolen cannot be accepted. If a device is found to be reported lost or stolen, Sell That Cell may refuse payment, cancel the transaction, and cooperate with law enforcement when required.

3. Devices We Accept

Sell That Cell purchases eligible devices listed on our website. This may include phones, tablets, smartwatches, AirPods, and other listed electronics.

We typically do not purchase devices that are not listed on our website unless approved through a bulk quote or direct communication with Sell That Cell.

Unlisted, unsolicited, or unapproved devices or items sent to Sell That Cell may be returned at the customer’s expense, rejected, recycled, discarded, or otherwise disposed of if return is not practical, lawful, or economically reasonable. Sell That Cell is not responsible for payment for devices or items that were not included in an approved quote or order.

Device eligibility may depend on model, specifications, condition, carrier or lock status when applicable, account lock status, market value, resale demand, and parts value.

4. Quotes and Offers

The offer shown on our website is based on the device model, specifications, condition, and other information you provide during the quote process.

Your offer may be affected by factors including, but not limited to:

  • Device model
  • Storage size, when applicable
  • Carrier or network status, when applicable
  • IMEI, MEID, ESN, or activation status, when applicable
  • Physical condition
  • Functional condition
  • Account locks
  • Missing parts or accessories
  • Water damage
  • Repair history
  • Market value
  • Current resale or parts demand

Any offer made by Sell That Cell is non-transferable and may only be used by the customer who created the order.

Offers are locked in as long as the order is shipped within 30 days from the date the order was placed. For purposes of this section, an order is considered shipped when the package is accepted or scanned by the carrier. If the device is not shipped within 30 days, the offer may be reviewed or updated based on current pricing.

5. Shipping Window and Label Expiration

Prepaid shipping labels, paperless QR code labels, or other shipping options are generally valid for up to 30 days from the date the order is placed.

Customers should ship devices as soon as possible after checkout. If a device is shipped after the 30-day period, Sell That Cell may update the offer based on current pricing at the time of inspection.

6. Inspection and Testing

After your device is received, Sell That Cell will inspect and test it to confirm the model, specifications, condition, account status, carrier or IMEI status when applicable, included accessories when applicable, and other details related to the quote.

Many phones and cellular devices may be tested using PhoneCheck or other industry-standard testing tools. We may also manually inspect the device for physical condition, functionality, account locks, water damage, missing parts, repair issues, and any other issue that may affect value.

The inspection process may vary depending on the type of device.

7. Changes to the Offer

Sell That Cell may adjust, revise, retract, or cancel an offer if the device received does not match the information provided during the quote process.

Reasons for an updated offer may include, but are not limited to:

  • Wrong model selected
  • Wrong storage size selected, when applicable
  • Wrong carrier or lock status selected, when applicable
  • Different condition than selected
  • Undisclosed cracks, damage, or defects
  • Water damage
  • Missing parts
  • Missing accessories that were selected as included
  • Account locks
  • IMEI, MEID, ESN, blacklist, financing, or activation issues when applicable
  • Device does not power on as expected
  • Device is bent, crushed, opened, repaired, or internally damaged
  • Device was shipped after the offer/shipping window
  • Device cannot be fully tested
  • Any other issue that affects resale, repair, reuse, or parts value

If an updated offer is needed, we will contact you using the email address, phone number, or other contact method provided with your order.

When practical, Sell That Cell may provide photos, testing results, inspection details, or other documentation explaining the reason for an updated offer.

8. Updated Offer Response and Auto-Accept Policy

If your offer changes after inspection, you may accept the updated offer or request that the device be returned, unless the device is reported lost, stolen, fraudulent, or otherwise cannot legally be returned.

If we contact you about an updated offer and do not receive a response, we will continue making reasonable attempts to reach you.

An updated offer may be automatically accepted only after both of the following have occurred:

  • We have attempted to contact you at least 5 times using the contact information provided with your order; and
  • At least 14 days have passed since our first attempt to contact you about the updated offer.

If the updated offer is automatically accepted under this policy, payment will be issued using the payment method selected during checkout or another agreed payment method if needed.

It is your responsibility to provide accurate contact information and monitor your email, phone, spam folder, and messages after shipping your device.

9. Returns After a Revised Offer

If you decline an updated offer, Sell That Cell will return your device free of charge in most cases, as long as payment has not already been issued and the device is not reported lost, stolen, fraudulent, or legally restricted.

Return shipping may not be available or may be at your expense if:

  • The device is reported lost or stolen.
  • The device appears connected to fraud or illegal activity.
  • The return address provided is invalid or incomplete.
  • You do not respond after repeated contact attempts.
  • Payment has already been issued.
  • Law enforcement or legal process prevents return.

Sell That Cell is not responsible for loss or damage that occurs during return shipping once the package has been provided to the carrier.

10. Payment

Most devices are inspected within 2 business days after delivery, and payment is typically sent after inspection when the device matches the quote and no customer response is needed. Inspection and payment timing are not guaranteed and may vary depending on volume, device type, testing needs, bulk shipments, payment issues, shipping issues, fraud or ownership reviews, or other factors outside our control.

Payment timing may be delayed if:

  • The device condition differs from the quote.
  • The device requires additional testing.
  • The device has account locks or carrier/IMEI issues when applicable.
  • Payment information is missing or incorrect.
  • We are waiting for your response to an updated offer.
  • The device is part of a larger or bulk shipment.
  • There are shipping, fraud, or ownership concerns.
  • External payment processors or banking systems cause delays.

Available payment methods may include PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, physical check, or other methods listed during checkout. Available payment methods may change at any time.

You are responsible for providing accurate payment information. Sell That Cell is not responsible for payment delays or losses caused by incorrect payment information provided by the customer.

Sell That Cell is not responsible for third-party fees charged by payment providers, banks, apps, or financial institutions.

You are responsible for any taxes, reporting, or other obligations related to payments you receive from Sell That Cell.

11. Shipping and Packaging

Sell That Cell provides prepaid shipping labels, paperless QR code labels, or other shipping options for eligible orders. Customers are responsible for packaging devices securely so they are protected during transit.

Devices should not be shipped loose in a plain envelope. Customers should use a box or padded mailer with enough padding to prevent movement inside the package.

Sell That Cell is not responsible for damage caused by improper packaging.

Shipping coverage may depend on the carrier, shipping method, and shipment details. If you are shipping a high-value order or a bulk lot, contact us before shipping if you have questions about packaging, insurance, or shipping method.

If a shipment is lost, delayed, damaged, misdelivered, or scanned incorrectly by the carrier, Sell That Cell may assist where possible, but we are not responsible for carrier errors or losses outside our control.

12. Multiple Orders in One Package

Customers may include multiple orders or multiple devices in one package. If multiple orders are shipped together, the customer should include the packing slip or order information for each order when possible so Sell That Cell can match the devices to the correct orders.

Sell That Cell may use the customer name, email address, order information, shipping label, and included devices to match a shipment to open orders. Sell That Cell is not responsible for delays caused by missing, incomplete, or unclear order information inside a combined shipment.

13. Personal Items, Accessories, SIM Cards, and Extra Items

Customers should remove all personal items and accessories before shipping unless the item was specifically included in the quote.

This includes, but is not limited to, SIM cards, memory cards, phone cases, screen protectors, original boxes, chargers, cables, mounts, or other accessories not specifically requested by Sell That Cell.

Sell That Cell is not responsible for personal items, accessories, SIM cards, memory cards, or other extra items sent with a device. These items may be discarded, recycled, or otherwise disposed of after receipt.

If you request the return of an accessory, SIM card, case, charger, box, or other extra item, Sell That Cell may return it at your expense if the item has not already been discarded, recycled, or separated from the shipment. Sell That Cell does not guarantee that extra items can be located or returned.

14. Account Locks and Data Removal

Customers are responsible for backing up devices, removing personal data, and removing account locks before shipping.

This includes, when applicable:

  • iCloud
  • Find My iPhone
  • Google accounts
  • Google FRP
  • Samsung accounts
  • MDM or device management profiles
  • Passcodes or screen locks
  • Any similar account, lock, or management restriction

Devices that are still connected to account locks may not qualify for the original offer because they cannot be fully reset, tested, reused, or resold.

If a device arrives with an account lock, Sell That Cell may contact the customer with instructions to remove it remotely. If the account lock cannot be removed, the offer may be reduced, revised to a parts-value offer, or cancelled depending on the device and lock status.

Sell That Cell is not responsible for personal data left on a device. Customers should erase devices before shipping whenever possible.

15. IMEI, MEID, ESN, Financing, and Carrier Status

For phones, cellular tablets, cellular watches, and other cellular-enabled devices, Sell That Cell may check the device’s IMEI, MEID, ESN, activation, blacklist, financing, or carrier status.

If the device is blocked, blacklisted, financed, unpaid, reported lost or stolen, activation locked, or otherwise ineligible for activation, the offer may be reduced, revised, cancelled, or rejected.

Devices reported lost or stolen cannot be accepted.

Carrier, financing, or activation issues may reduce the offer even if the device is otherwise functional.

16. Financed, Locked, Blacklisted, or Reported Devices

Some carrier, financing, or account-lock issues may be accepted at a reduced offer amount. Devices reported lost or stolen cannot be accepted.

Account-locked devices, such as iCloud-locked or Google-locked devices, may only qualify for a low parts-value offer if they are not reported lost or stolen.

Customers should answer all lock and status questions accurately so Sell That Cell can provide the most accurate quote.

17. Bulk Sales

Bulk sales may be handled differently than individual instant quote orders.

Bulk sales may include, but are not limited to, repair shop inventory, business trade-ins, school or office devices, mixed lots, damaged devices, parts units, or other larger quantity shipments.

Bulk quotes may depend on item quantity, device mix, condition mix, lock status, model details, market demand, and inspection results.

Bulk quote payment timing, shipping method, return terms, and inspection timing may vary depending on the size and nature of the lot. Sell That Cell may request additional information before providing or finalizing a bulk quote.

If Sell That Cell provides written bulk sale terms, invoice terms, quote terms, or other written terms for a specific bulk transaction, those written terms may control over conflicting general Terms on this page.

18. Customer Information

When using Sell That Cell, you agree to provide accurate information, including your name, email address, shipping address, return address, phone number, payment information, and order details.

Sell That Cell is not responsible for delays, failed payment, lost communication, or shipping issues caused by inaccurate or incomplete information.

If your contact information changes after placing an order, contact us as soon as possible.

19. Communications

By submitting a quote, placing an order, contacting us, or using our website, you agree that Sell That Cell may contact you about your order, quote, shipping label, payment, revised offer, device condition, or related service issue.

23. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sell That Cell is not responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from use of the website, shipping, inspection, revised offers, payment delays, carrier delays, third-party payment processors, or other services.

Sell That Cell’s maximum liability for any transaction will not exceed the final accepted offer amount for the device or devices involved in that transaction.

Some states do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

24. No Guarantee of Purchase

Sell That Cell reserves the right to refuse, cancel, revise, or reject any transaction before payment is issued.

A quote does not guarantee purchase if the device does not match the information provided, cannot be legally purchased, cannot be tested, is reported lost or stolen, has unresolved account locks, or otherwise cannot be accepted.

25. Changes to These Terms

Sell That Cell may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on our website with a revised “Last updated” date.

Your continued use of the website or services after updated Terms are posted means you accept the revised Terms.
