How To Erase Your Apple Devices

Insert Generic Importance of Resetting Device


If You Are Able to Access the Settings Menu on Your Devices


  1. Connect your iPhone to wifi

  2. Click the Settings icon

  3. Click your name at the top of the settings page

  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the Apple ID settings menu and click “Sign Out”

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign out of your Apple ID

  6. Once you are signed out of your Apple ID account, click Settings then click General and scroll to the bottom of that menu and select the option for “Transfer or Reset iPhone” or “Reset” (depending on what software version you are on)

  7. Click “Erase All Content and Settings” and follow the on-screen instructions to erase your device


If You Are unable to Access the Settings Menu on Your Devices



  1.  Go to icloud.com/#find (on your phone or a computer)

  2. Sign in with the same Apple ID and password that was used on the phone you want to remove from your account

  3. Click “All Devices” and select the device you want to remove

  4. Click “Erase Device” and enter your Apple ID password (don’t worry about entering a message or phone number, because the device is not lost)

  5. Click “Remove From Account” to remove the device from your iCloud account

If You Are Able to Access the Settings Menu on Your Devices



  1. Connect your phone to wifi

  2. Click the “Settings” icon

  3.  Locate the “Factory Data Reset” option (the location of this option varies by model. If your phone has a search bar in the settings menu, search for “Factory Data Reset” or “Reset” and it should bring up that option)

  4.  If you have a screen lock password, it may require you to enter that password as well as your password for any Google or Samsung accounts logged into the device

  5. Click “Delete All” and wait for the phone to reboot


If You Are unable to Access the Settings Menu on Your Devices


  1. Go to www.accounts.google.com and sign-in with your Google account that was used on your old device

  2. Click “Security” then scroll down and locate the section for “Your Devices”

  3. Click “Manage All Devices”

  4. Select the device you want to remove and click “Sign Out”


How To Erase Your Google Devices


  1. Connect your Pixel phone to wifi

  2. Click the “Settings” icon

  3. Click “System” then “Reset Options” then “Erase all Data (factory reset)”

  4. Click “Erase all Data”

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions including your PIN if it asks for that then click “Erase all Data”

  6. When your phone finishes the reset, select the option to restart


How To Erase Your LG Devices



  1. Connect your device to wifi

  2. Click the “Settings” icon

  3. Depending on your device and software update, these instructions may vary slightly – Click “General” then select the “Backup and Reset” option. If you do not see this option, it may be located under “System” instead of “General” and under “Advanced” or “Reset Options”

  4. Click “Factory Data Reset” and follow the on-screen instructions to wipe and reset your device

Erasing Other Devices


There are thousands of phone models and the method to wipe your device can vary by model and even by the software version installed. Most devices may be reset with some close variation of the following:


  1. Connect your device to wifi

  2. Click the “Settings” icon

  3. There will be some option for “Factory Data Reset”, “Reset Device”, “Erase Device” or something similar.

  4. If your device has a search bar at the top of the “Settings” page, try searching for “Reset” or “Erase”

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter any passwords for your device or accounts so they may be removed and allow the device to be reset
